One Should Not Only Not Vote for the CP for the Slogan 'There Is a Future,' but It Should Be Banned as a Criminal Organization: Political Scientist

The slogan undermines the future of Armenia, indicating the prospect of existence while attempting to convince that there is hope for a future, essentially comforting people not to lose all hope. This was stated by political scientist Stepan Danielyan on his Facebook page while commenting on the CP's slogan.

“Not only should one not vote for the CP for the slogan 'There Is a Future,' but it should be banned as a criminal organization. There is a similar practice in Turkey where certain parties were dissolved at one time, and their members were prohibited from engaging in political and public activities for years. In the United States, there are also laws concerning criminal organizations, where all members are condemned regardless of their personal culpability,” he wrote.

“Now, let’s address the message of that slogan. It implies doubt about Armenia’s future, indicating the prospect of existence and trying to persuade that we have hope for a future, thereby comforting that we should not be overly despondent. This doubt is spread by the ruling party, which, due to its position, is aware of the real situation of affairs. It is clear that we cannot adopt a slogan of something that exists on its own; instead, we are taking something that we want to happen, and its existence is being questioned, as we call upon people to believe in it and work toward this direction. Such slogans spread despair and moods of emigration,” he concluded.
