To maintain power, someone who sends their son into captivity will also sell the homeland to stay in power. This was stated by Garegin Miskaryan, a member of the Citizen's Decision Social Democratic Party, on his Facebook page.

“Why does Nikol propose to Aliyev to take his son captive, knowing that this is excluded in any case? For one simple reason: it’s yet another populist and low-quality move to maintain power... Someone who sends their son into captivity to keep their power will sell the homeland as well. The boundless populism is extremely amusing...,” he wrote.

It should be noted that during today's campaign, Nikol Pashinyan announced that he is ready to replace his son with the remaining captives in Azerbaijan.
