Biden Invites Zelensky to Washington

US President Joe Biden had a phone conversation on Monday with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, and invited him to Washington.

According to reports from Armenpress, citing RIA Novosti, this information was shared with reporters by Jake Sullivan, the US President's Assistant for National Security Affairs.

Sullivan stated that Biden assured Zelensky that he would defend Ukraine's interests during the upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 16 in Geneva.

"It was a phone call that they had planned ahead of President Biden’s trip to Europe and his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They had the opportunity to discuss thoroughly all matters concerning US-Ukrainian relations. President Biden was able to tell President Zelensky that he will steadfastly defend Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its future aspirations. He also informed President Zelensky that he is looking forward to welcoming him to the White House in Washington this summer, after returning from Europe," Sullivan stated.
