The Prime Minister is Preparing to Sign an Interstate Document: Marukyan
Where have you heard that the Prime Minister has directly stated he is preparing to sign an interstate document? Even if we take the second published document as a basis, it directly indicates that the commission being formed will decide where the border line is drawn. This was stated by Sisak Gabrielyan, a member of the 'My Step' faction, during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly, addressing Edmon Marukyan.
In response to Gabrielyan's remarks, Marukyan quoted the Prime Minister as saying that there is a document that aligns with the interests of the Republic of Armenia and that if Azerbaijan fulfills its obligations, he will sign the document.
“Continuing the thought,” he said, “the first two parts of the document have been published and the rest has been redacted. Why hasn’t the other part been presented? Since the Prime Minister acknowledged that the first two parts of this document are real, we therefore have reasonable suspicion that perhaps the other parts are also fundamental, but we did not come to the Parliament for you to ask me whether the document is genuine or not, and for me to ask you.”
“We came to the Parliament to be explained what is being done, whether there is a real document, what it is, and it should be provided to us in Armenian,” Marukyan noted, inquiring whether there is any decision by the commission regarding the status of Artsakh, whether our borders will be determined by these commission decisions, and whether changes need to be made to the Law on Administrative Division, and if so, that would be an international agreement.
Marukyan stated that the document the Prime Minister is preparing to sign is an interstate document and an international agreement.
