Law Enforcement Agencies Search for Voskahat Community Leader

As the elections on June 20 approach, law enforcement agencies have begun to target community leaders. ArmLur.am has learned that this time the focus is on Voskahat community leader Gevorg Nersisyan.

According to reports, law enforcement officials possess information that the community leader has abused his official powers and violated paragraph 6 of article 21 of the law on Local Self-Government Bodies. For years, he allegedly provided various amounts of social assistance from the community budget to his family members and community council members Karapet Azizyan, Serob Dishlanyan, Armen Gyozalyan, Nikolay Ter Khachatryan, their families, as well as to financially secure employees of the same community administration, resulting in the misappropriation of large sums from the mayor's financial resources.

Additionally, for years Nersisyan has rewarded himself and his wife, Sonik Nersisyan, as 'the best employees' of the community administration with various monetary awards, further leading to the misappropriation of large sums through embezzlement of municipal financial resources. The extent of the damages and circumstances are being clarified. Measures are being taken to locate G. Nersisyan.
