Former Kotayk Governor Karapet Guloyan's House Arrest Lifted
The house arrest imposed on Karapet Guloyan, the former governor of Kotayk and former mayor of Abovyan, has been lifted and bail has been applied. This was reported by the Judicial Department.
The decision was made on July 9. It is noteworthy that a criminal case has been initiated against Guloyan for conducting illegal activities related to encumbered property. On May 12, approximately 91 percent of the real estate in Arinj, which belonged to Guloyan and his wife, Roza Tsarukyan, was transferred to state ownership through a court decision.
According to the charges, Guloyan was aware that the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia had applied restrictions on actions related to the management of the property; however, he allegedly damaged the exterior and interior walls of the residential house, as well as the basement walls. He reportedly dismantled the facing tiles and displaced doors and windows, among other actions.
