Lithuanian Foreign Minister Calls the Armenian Genocide a 'Historical Truth' in Baku
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis stated in Baku that his country recognizes the Armenian Genocide. According to Armenpress, he made this remark following a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in response to a reporter's question.
"The lessons of history are very complex, especially for those who were not part of it. We are learning to understand the other side's perspectives, to view history through their eyes, to put ourselves in their place. This process is time-consuming. Some processes are much easier than others. We saw that the President of the United States recognized a clear historical truth on behalf of his country, just as Lithuania has done," Landsbergis emphasized, expressing his belief that facts must be presented and evaluated.
