Accident on Vayk-Jermuk Highway Involves VAZ-2107, Opel, and Volvo; Several Injured
On April 5, at 17:02, the Vayots Dzor regional crisis management center received a report of a traffic accident on the Vayk-Jermuk highway, indicating that there were injuries.
A team from the Fire and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations dispatched to the scene. It was found that a collision occurred at the 145th km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway involving a VAZ-2107 (driver: A. S., born in 1984), an Opel (driver: A. S., born in 1958), and a Volvo truck (driver: V. K., born in 1979).
The driver of the VAZ-2107 and the passenger A. S. (born in 1982) sustained varying degrees of injuries. Rescuers extracted the injured from the vehicle and brought them to the ambulance; they were subsequently hospitalized at the Vayk City Medical Center. Doctors assessed the driver's condition as moderate, while the passenger's condition was rated as satisfactory.
Rescuers had to disconnect the vehicles and secure the gas valves of the passenger cars.
