“The Incompetence of the Armenian Prime Minister in the Military Sphere is Astonishing”: Konstantin Makienko

The statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the purchase of Russian Su-30 fighter jets without missiles speaks volumes about his incompetence in the military sphere. This mistake could have been forgiven when Pashinyan first took office.

In an interview with MK, Konstantin Makienko, Deputy Director of the Center for Strategy and Technology Analysis and a military expert, said that combat aircraft are almost never delivered without ammunition. “It is normal practice that at least one standard set of strike aviation means is supplied simultaneously with the carrier, in this case, the Su-30-SM fighters,” he emphasized.

Makienko added that it was “absolutely correct” to supply both the fighters and the strike aviation means to Armenia. “The incompetence of Armenia’s Prime Minister in the military sphere is astonishing. When he just assumed the office, it could have been understandable for him as a journalist,” the expert stated.

He suggested that the Prime Minister of Armenia has a “short memory,” as the politician has forgotten his own statements about the strikes from the jets. It is also not ruled out that Pashinyan is lying, the media outlet adds.
