Nikol Pashinyan Skillfully Utilized His One Chance in April 2018, While Onik Gasparyan Did Not: 'Hraparak'
“Hraparak” newspaper writes: “We are a unique nation – constantly searching for saviors, then creating 'rescuers' and heroes from those saviors, only to later turn those same heroes into anti-heroes. Moreover, it takes less than half a step for a hero to become an anti-hero. Initially, we attribute to a person all the highest qualities we have in our minds, and then we quickly become disappointed when they do not meet our hopes, and with great cruelty, we overthrow them.
The most important thing is that we all are claimants – voicing our opinions, but not taking action ourselves. We want someone else, the savior, the hero, to do our tasks for us. We want to sit comfortably in our homes, in front of our computers or televisions, and watch how our 'hero of the heart' makes a power change all by themselves, taking on the responsibilities of an entire nation, freeing their fearful and cowardly nation from the need to act.
Of course, it would be nice if such brave, fearless, and self-sacrificing heroes actually existed among us and fulfilled the hopes of the public. But they, unfortunately, belong to the same nation, carrying the same genes – just as cautious, avoiding responsibility, and incapable of risking their own lives. Therefore, we should not have high expectations from them either. Especially if a person has been a soldier their entire life, subject to orders, laws, and superiors, they must first undergo a 'revolution' within themselves – realizing that there is a situation that requires an unconventional solution and having the courage to take risks. And a person is given such an opportunity only once in their life – one stellar hour, after which, failing to take advantage, they become just an ordinary person.
Nikol Pashinyan skillfully utilized his one chance in April 2018, while Onik Gasparyan did not.” For more details, see today’s issue of the newspaper.
