Lebanon's Foreign Minister on the Release of Maral Najarian
The Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Charbel Wehbe, expressed gratitude toward the organizations that contributed to the release and return of Lebanese-Armenian Maral Najarian, who had been taken captive by Azerbaijan.
“Wehbe thanked all those whose efforts made Najarian's release possible, specifically mentioning the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, and Armenia,” stated a report from the national agency.
Maral Najarian was captured by the Azerbaijani army on November 10 in Berdzor, where she had gone to retrieve her personal belongings. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's Lebanon Central Committee, MP Hagop Bagratuni, and the efforts of the Prosperous Armenia Party's MP Naira Zohrabyan, along with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she was released and returned to Lebanon on March 10.
