Syrian Mercenaries Must Leave Nagorno-Karabakh, Says CSTO Secretary General
Syrian mercenaries must leave Nagorno-Karabakh, as their activities pose risks to the collective security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, stated CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas during an online briefing, according to the RIA Novosti news agency.
"We had information about the presence and actions of militants from Syria in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone," said Zas. "We start from the premise that any Syrian mercenaries or militants must leave this area and cease their activities, as the creation of squads, militant groups, and illegal armed formations near the borders of CSTO member states presents clear risks to our collective security," added the CSTO Secretary General.
