VIDEO: If the opposition wants Nikol Pashinyan to stop being Prime Minister, there is one way, Rubinyan says

I believe the opposition should study world history a little better, because there are numerous cases where leaders continued to hold office after the results of a war. This was stated today, January 22, in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly by Ruben Rubinyan, the chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Relations Committee, while addressing the observation that after the war, the Minister of Foreign Affairs was replaced, the head of the defense department was changed, while the Supreme Commander remained. The opposition says there has been no record in world history of a Supreme Commander not resigning after defeat.

“In recent days, it has been proven that the opposition's positions are not very logical, because if the opposition wants Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to stop being Prime Minister, there is one way: they come, sign a memorandum regarding early elections, and if they win, Nikol Pashinyan stops being Prime Minister. Please don’t ask me now about the possibility of fraud, because that is a very illogical question, as in recent decades, the only power under which fraudulent zero elections were held, the power that lost in Kapand and Abovyan, was the My Step alliance. It is illogical for parties that committed numerous election frauds during their time in power to express concern that the party under which zero elections were fraudulently conducted would commit fraud again,” Rubinyan stated.

Journalists countered Rubinyan, saying that two and a half years ago, they enjoyed the trust of a large part of society, while the situation has changed now, people’s hopes have not been fulfilled, and it is possible that they will take such a step. The ruling party representative noted that if we move along that logic, then the current government should never organize elections.
