One Firefighter Loses Leg Due to Landmine Explosion in Meghri
During search and rescue operations for missing persons and remains in the Meghri region, one firefighter suffered light injuries and another lost a leg due to a landmine explosion yesterday. The information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by Hovhannes Aslanyan, head of the Resuscitation Department at the Kapan Medical Center.
"We have operated on the firefighter who lost his leg, and his condition is now stable," he said.
Recall that the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported yesterday that around 12:20 PM, during operations to find the remains of soldiers and civilians who died during the war, a landmine explosion injured Captain Artyom Ignati Shahnazaryan and Senior Firefighter Aram Sergei Navasardyan from the Emergency Situations Ministry's Rescue Service.
The injured received first aid at the Meghri Medical Center before being transferred to Kapan Hospital.
