Some Generals May Have Been Undeserving, But Our Military Has Values: Vazgen Manukyan
During the war, when the military saw that the country's leader was going down a treacherous path, a coup should have been executed. This was stated by the unified candidate Vazgen Manukyan during a meeting with citizens in Vanadzor.
“We have good officers. Recently, general medals and ranks have started to be awarded as rewards for loyalty—not to the state but to me, which has become something akin to bribery. And indeed, perhaps some generals were undeserving, but our military has values. In such countries, when there is a defeat in war, and the military sees that the country's leader is giving wrong orders or leading in a treacherous direction, a coup occurs, and the military takes power into its own hands. And I believe that in our country, the situation was such that this needed to be done. I also said this during the war,” said Vazgen Manukyan.
