I Do Not Comment on Yellow Press Rumors: Hakob Karapetyan on the Muratyan-Pashinyan Relations
“I do not comment on yellow press rumors,” said Hakob Karapetyan, the spokesperson for Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, in an interview with Auroranews, referring to publications about the relations between Pashinyan and Marutyan.
It should be noted that today the newspaper “Hraparak” reported: “For almost a year, the relations between Nikol Pashinyan and Hayk Marutyan have been frozen; they do not communicate and do not meet on any issues. Moreover, the municipality works with the government in writing and only in extreme cases. The coldness arose at the time Nikol Pashinyan gave certain orders that were either illegal or unacceptable for Marutyan, and he refused to fulfill them. Since then, he has started to be absent from work and taking vacations, which has outraged Pashinyan. However, he is unable to find a solution to this situation, as with many other complex situations. He simply curses Marutyan at every opportunity out of helplessness and believes that it was a mistake to appoint him mayor. This is yet another proof of a management crisis that cannot be resolved without a change of power.
