Confirmed Information on Two Captured Women: Their Number Could Be Higher, Says Hetq
According to the Armenian government, there are currently two women held captive in Azerbaijan, one of whom is Lebanese-Armenian Maral Najaryan. No information was provided by the government regarding the missing women during an interview with Hetq.
Human rights representative at the European Court for Armenian prisoners, lawyer Siranush Sahakyan, shared some details with Hetq regarding the confirmed cases of abductions. The lawyer noted that five women among the captives and missing have been returned to Armenia, there is confirmed information about the two women still in Azerbaijan, and there are still unconfirmed reports concerning three missing individuals, as well as the presumption of further abductions.
