Evidence of Civilian Abductions in Azerbaijani Prisons, Says Artak Beglaryan
Currently, based on our work and documentation, we have recorded 60 civilian casualties, of which 39 were as a result of direct targeting during military operations. This was announced by Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan during a press conference.
“Of these cases, 21 are related to the killings of citizens who ended up under Azerbaijani control or were abducted. The majority of the bodies have already been returned. This is a preliminary number, as there are various reports concerning other victims, but these need to be verified,” he stated.
Beglaryan added that there are currently 40 missing civilians, some of whom have been reportedly killed. “We have clear evidence that some of them have been abducted and are in Azerbaijani prisons,” he noted.
