Since November 13, 2020, the rescue teams of the State Emergency Situations Service have been conducting search and rescue operations in areas where military operations took place. As of December 20, a total of 1,039 bodies have been discovered, including those of civilians.
Under the direction of the head of the Emergency Situations Service, Major General Karen Sargsyan, relatives of fallen or missing servicemen, as well as military personnel familiar with the terrain, are also participating in the search operations alongside the rescue teams.
Today, search operations continue in the mountainous forested areas of Shushi, as well as in the Martuni, Hadrut, and Fizuli regions.
