Snowfall in Several Regions of Armenia, While Roads Are Icy - Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across Armenia.
The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn Province are closed.
Snow is falling in the Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces, in the city of Masis in Ararat Province, and in the town of Jambarak in Gegharkunik Province, particularly in an area known as the 'Chayni Bend.'
Icy roads are present in the Gyumri-Sisian highway in the Gegharkunik and Syunik provinces, in an area referred to as 'Meghru Sar,' as well as on the roads in Talin and Ashtarak in Aragatsotn Province.
According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the crisis management center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.
As per the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ban on foreign nationals entering Georgia remains in force. However, this restriction does not apply to freight transportation.
Drivers are advised to travel solely with winter tires.
