According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, rescuers retrieved the body from a pit. The police and the investigative department are working to determine the identity of the deceased. As per Shamshyan’s information, police and investigators from the Armavir region established that what transpired was indeed a murder and, having conducted necessary operational-investigative and inquiry measures, determined that the victim was killed and then burned by 44-year-old Arthur Galstyan, a resident of Gyumri. Galstyan was found and taken to the Armavir police hours later on the same day, from where he was transferred to the investigative department.
Following a decision by senior investigator Tigranyan, a criminal case was opened under the first part of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code (murder).
