The Opponent's Attack Message is That Their Goal is to Capture Syunik: Karen Hovhannisyan
Military expert Karen Hovhannisyan, speaking with Tert.am about the recent attack attempts by the opponent that resulted in the wounding of three reservists, stated that the current aims of the opponent's offensives are not directed at Artsakh. The underlying message indicates that their goal is to seize Syunik.
Hovhannisyan noted that, during this period, there has not been true peace, and the temporary cessation of hostilities does not imply peace; it had a humanitarian nature for the exchange of bodies and prisoners. On the other hand, Azerbaijan received what it wanted. He emphasized, “They were even given more, hoping that there would be peace or at least dialogue about peace. But I can confidently say that there will never be peace as long as Azerbaijan and Turkey are connected by land.”
According to the expert, Azerbaijan is raising the issues of the Gegharkunik Marz and Yerevan so they can obtain Syunik; thus, the war in the region has not yet ended. “Furthermore, there is a new reality in the region, new borders, and we should expect a larger war and actions because wars begin with such provocations,” he added.
The situation, according to Hovhannisyan, is such that there are provocations and provocations for any territory, a hill, or even a meter of land.
