Erdogan and Aliyev's Statements Also Go Against Russia, Says Edmon Marukyan
The statements made by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey essentially indicate that it is still too early to speak of peace in this region. This was announced by Edmon Marukyan during parliamentary briefings.
According to Marukyan, Russia's reaction was not accidental. “Their statements are also against Russia, as the Russian Federation is the mediator, custodian, and supervisor of the document, being a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group,” he stated.
“Until Turkey and Azerbaijan rid themselves of their genocidal declarations, statements regarding Yerevan, which they have made on multiple occasions, I cannot envision any relations, cooperation for the development of the region. First, they must abandon that rhetoric. There must be guarantees that there is no intention to commit encroachments on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia or the remaining territories of Artsakh. Our wounds are very fresh today; we cannot engage in such discussions even if they claim that everything is fine. Our wounds are very fresh, and history shows that time is needed for the parties to understand what has happened. We are still heated; we do not fully comprehend what has happened to us,” he added.
