"Treatment of Armenian Prisoners of War Must Be Thoroughly Investigated" - Lars Patrick Berg
Member of the European Parliament Lars Patrick Berg is preparing to raise issues at the European Council regarding the involvement of mercenaries from Syria by Azerbaijan in the war in Artsakh, among other matters.
As reported by Armenpress, Lars Patrick Berg discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia during a video conference with Armenian National Assembly member Viktor Engibaryan.
The MEP stated that they spoke about a number of questions related to the war. “I will address these in the European Parliament, particularly the involvement of mercenaries from Syria by Azerbaijan in the war. We discussed the use of internationally prohibited cluster munitions, for which there is ample evidence, and the need for the international community to initiate an investigation into this. We also agreed that all war crimes must be thoroughly investigated, especially the mistreatment of Armenian prisoners of war,” emphasized the MEP.
Azerbaijan used cluster bombs against the peaceful population of Artsakh during the war launched at the end of September.
