Employers Gain Opportunity to Add Additional 1000 Dram to Employee Contributions: Avetikyan
The Military Insurance Fund is launching a new initiative. Every entity or employer operating in Armenia now has the opportunity to add an additional 1000 dram to the 1000 dram paid by their employees, announced the fund's director, Varuzhan Avetikyan.
According to him, during the years of operation of the fund, every citizen of Armenia has contributed 1000 dram, resulting in a total of 30 billion dram, or approximately 60 million dollars, destined for the families of soldiers who have fallen or been disabled during this war.
“At this time, it is extremely important for our compatriots to make donations. Our compatriots at the border, our brave girls and boys must be confident that their families are financially secure and that their financial stability is in place. We are providing compensations to both fallen and disabled soldiers. We are also providing compensations to missing soldiers,” stated Avetikyan, emphasizing that while the amount collected may seem large, each soldier's family receives between 58 million dram and 82 million dram, which amounts to 120-160 thousand dollars.
He noted that compensations are provided in two ways: either a one-time payment of 10 million dram is made if the soldier has been killed, is missing, or suffers from first group disability, or a payment of 5 million dram is issued for those with second group disabilities.
The fund's director reminded everyone that to make a donation, they should visit the website 1000+.am and support the Military Insurance Fund. “In these three weeks, we have managed to gather 4.5 million dram, with 80 percent of the contributions coming from Armenia, followed by the United States and Russia. It was quite unusual that we have a small community in Cyprus, but they rank high in donations, having contributed 240 thousand dollars. My appeal is to be generous because your generosity will allow us to support and provide insurance benefits to our soldiers and their families,” Avetikyan concluded.
