Current Military Expenses Set to Increase by 40 Billion

The National Assembly today approved the draft law on amendments and additions to the law on the Republic of Armenia's state budget for 2020 with 89 votes in favor, 0 against, and 0 abstentions during its second reading and in full.

As a result, approximately 40 billion drams will be allocated to increase Armenia's military expenditures.

The draft law on amendments and additions to the law on the Republic of Armenia's state budget for 2020 states that it aims to create the most favorable conditions for the mobilization of the Armed Forces and the economy in order to prevent the immediate threat of armed aggression against the Republic of Armenia, as well as to ensure the normal functioning of state and local self-government bodies, and the protection of the life and security of individuals under military conditions.
