Iran's Military Leadership Undergoes Major Changes Following Khamenei's Appointments
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, has announced a significant reshuffle in the country’s military leadership. As part of this new structure:
- Major General Ali Abdollahi has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces,
- Amir Kioumars Heydari has been named Deputy Chief of Staff,
- Major General Ahmad Vahidi has been designated as the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC),
- Major General Mostafa Izadi has taken over as Deputy Commander of the IRGC,
- Hossein Taeb has been appointed as the head of the Basij organization.
