Gegam Museghyan, Chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's Yerevan City Committee, Killed in Artsakh Front
The Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation announces the death of its dedicated member and freedom fighter, Gegam Museghyan, Chairman of the Yerevan City Committee. He was killed today at the Artsakh front during battles against the enemy.
It is worth reminding that on September 27, Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack on Artsakh, targeting also the civilian population. The Artsakh armed forces have downed 17 helicopters, 17 planes (4 of which were Su-25), 113 drones, and 250 units of armored vehicles, mainly tanks, along with 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, one TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system, 2 Smerch systems, and 1 Uragan-type multiple launch rocket system. The enemy has suffered over 2,290 casualties and more than 3,670 injured.
On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicates there are 158 fatalities and over 200 injuries. The Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in both Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of 2 civilians in Gegharkunik and 11 people in Artsakh.
As a result of the shelling by Azerbaijani forces, journalists from both foreign and local media have been injured. A state of war has been declared in Armenia and Artsakh since September 27.
