French Foreign Minister Warns of Risks of Internationalizing Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict
The French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has warned the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan about the risks of internationalizing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was reported by the TASS news agency.
Le Drian added that the OSCE intends to achieve a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh and resume the negotiation process.
It is worth recalling that on September 27, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting also the civilian population. The Artsakh forces have shot down 11 helicopters, 6 planes (4 of which were Su-25), 103 drones, and destroyed 184 armored units, mainly tanks, 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, one TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system, as well as 2 Smerch and 1 Uragan multiple rocket launchers.
The enemy has over 1280 casualties, 180 of which were in the direction of Karvachar, and more than 2700 wounded. On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicates 158 casualties and over 200 wounded.
The Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the deaths of 2 civilians in Gegharkunik and 11 in Artsakh.
Journalists from both foreign and local media have been injured as a result of the Azerbaijani military’s shelling.
