Putin, Macron, and Trump Call for Immediate Cessation of Hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh
Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and French President Emmanuel Macron have issued a joint statement regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Putin, Macron, and Trump have called for the immediate cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. The presidents urged Armenia and Azerbaijan to resume negotiations around Nagorno-Karabakh without preconditions,” the statement reads.
It should be noted that on September 27, the Azerbaijani military launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting civilians as well. The Artsakh forces have shot down 11 enemy helicopters, 4 planes, 96 drones, and 184 units of armored vehicles, mainly tanks, as well as one plane, 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, one “TOS-1A” heavy flamethrower system, and 2 “Smerch” and 1 “Uragan” multiple rocket launcher systems.
The adversary has suffered over 1280 casualties, including 180 in the direction of Karvachar, along with more than 2700 wounded. On the Armenian side, preliminary data indicates 103 deaths and about 200 injuries, of which around 120 are still receiving treatment; the others have recovered and returned to service.
Azerbaijani armed forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, resulting in the death of one civilian in the Vardenis region and seven people in Artsakh.
A state of war was declared in Armenia and Artsakh on September 27.
