Greek Woman Transfers Armenian Husband's Remains to Armenia
Munich airport staff discovered the bones of a deceased husband in the luggage of a passenger. A Greek citizen attempted to transport the remains to Armenia.
During a routine inspection of the passenger's luggage, security personnel found human bones inside a wooden box. The 74-year-old woman, the owner of the luggage, was immediately sent for questioning, and medical personnel, a prosecutor, and border control officers were summoned.
They found out that the deceased was originally from Armenia. The couple had lived in Greece with their daughter for a long time. The woman's husband passed away in 2008 and was buried in Thessaloniki, Greece. However, the Greek woman later decided to transfer her husband's remains back to his homeland.
After a brief investigation, it was determined that the woman had not violated any laws, and she was allowed to continue with her flight. The remains were returned to the box and placed back in her luggage, reported Bild.
