COVID-19 Situation Continues to Improve, Prime Minister Says
COVID-19 situation continues to improve in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a press briefing on August 4. He noted that for the first time, the number of patients undergoing treatment has dropped below 8,000, indicating progress in overcoming the epidemic.
“We have approached the levels recorded in the last week of May by all indicators, but the problem is that there are also some bad news. The bad news is that Armenian citizens have begun to interpret the decline in numbers as an opportunity to neglect anti-epidemic rules. Many even think the situation has been overcome. This is absolutely not the case. The epidemic situation remains complicated,” the Prime Minister emphasized, adding that there will be stricter enforcement of anti-epidemic regulations, including the wearing of masks in both open and closed spaces.
