Citizen Stabs Villager Over Daughter's Unwanted Marriage Concerns: Details
The preliminary investigation into the case of intentionally causing serious injury to another's health, initiated by the Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, has concluded. During the investigation, it was revealed that a 52-year-old resident of the Vardablur community in the Lori province had an altercation on April 15, 2020, around 6:30 PM with a peer from the same village and the latter's nephew, a 27-year-old resident of Stepanavan. The argument centered around the issue of bothering the 52-year-old's daughter regarding an unwanted marriage, during which he intentionally stabbed his peer with a folding knife, causing life-threatening serious injuries.
Based on the evidence collected during the pre-trial proceedings, the 52-year-old resident of Vardablur has been charged under Article 112 (intentional infliction of serious injury to health) of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been forwarded to court with an accusatory conclusion.
