Tensions Remain High as Amulsar Guardians Block Road to Jermuk
The tense situation in Amulsar continues, with police urging protestors who have blocked the road to stop their demonstration. However, the participants are resisting and remain gathered in the area.
Currently, the guardians of Amulsar have closed the road leading to Jermuk, demanding that the trailer cabins installed by the Lydian company be moved back 30 meters from the area. Vayots Dzor Police Chief Gevorg Azizyan is also at the protest site, negotiating with the Amulsar guardians.
“We demand that you move these cabins 30 meters to the side; otherwise, we will bring our cabin and place it in the middle,” the protestors state.
Among the protesters are BHK MP Arman Abovyan and independent MP Arman Babajanyan. As previously reported, a short while ago, several dozen citizens were detained, including Vahagn Varagyan, the leader of the “Green Future” environmental movement.
It should be noted that earlier this morning, the Amulsar guardians announced that the new security service hired by Lydian had removed their trailer cabins, replacing them with their own.
