Mass Protests in Khabarovsk in Support of Ex-Governor Sergey Furgal
A spontaneous gathering is taking place at Lenin Square in Khabarovsk in defense of former governor Sergey Furgal. According to various sources, around 35,000 people have taken to the streets of the city.
The protesters have blocked Lenin Street and organized a rally in front of the regional administration building. Notably, police have not intervened.
Furgal's press secretary, Nadezhda Tomchenkova, met with the participants, thanking them for their support and urging them to disperse. A representative of the regional authorities also spoke with the crowd, stating that "everything must be done within the framework of the law" and adding that the authorities are not indifferent to the fate of the former governor.
