Is Ararat Mirzoyan Establishing Separate Relations with the Kremlin?
The newspaper "Fact" writes: "Recently, the topic of Armenian-Russian relations has become increasingly tense. While our countries have friendly and allied relations, the atmosphere at the leadership level is quite cold, a sentiment echoed not only by international relations experts and political scientists but also by ordinary citizens. Many believe that such a situation has never existed before. No previous leader of Armenia has had such cold and strained relations with the Russian leadership.
The reasons for this tension have been many from the outset, and recently several incidents have added to them, particularly the topic of the military base withdrawal, Navalny appearing on air, and the growing anti-Russian sentiments from certain circles, among others.
According to our information, this situation has also caused concern among government circles. Reportedly, the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, is trying to independently negotiate with the Russians. As is known, he previously worked with the pro-Kremlin "Regnum" news agency and has maintained his connections to this day.
Utilizing his previous contacts in these circles, he is attempting to establish relations with the Russians independently of Prime Minister Pashinyan. To gain their trust, he is particularly informed about existing anti-Russian and Western plans and is trying to smooth out any issues related to them with the Russian side.
According to our sources, Ararat Mirzoyan is also attempting to gather support from government representatives who perceive dangers in their team's consistent anti-Russian actions or who at least are not encouraged by instances such as Navalny's appearance.
