How to Calculate Your Home Property Tax: The Cadastre Committee Introduces a Calculator
The Cadastre Committee has introduced a calculator on its electronic services platform, allowing anyone to calculate their home property tax.
In the relevant section of the calculator, users must enter either the registration number of their house or the cadastral code. After this, it will be clear how much the property tax will amount to with the new amendments.
It is noteworthy that on June 25, the National Assembly adopted a bill amending the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia in an extraordinary manner, which envisages changes in the current property tax rates.
According to the legislative changes, the deadline for transitioning to higher property tax rates has been set at six years. Thus, property owners will first make their property tax payments based on the new scale in December 2021, paying 25% of the property tax, 30% in 2022, 35% in 2023, 50% in 2024, 75% in 2025, and 100% in 2026.
