Environmentalist Sounds Alarm: Huge Volumes of Water from the Hrazdan River Flowing into the Araks River, Used by Turkey
Member of the "Armenian Environmental Front" Levon Galstyan has raised concerns that large volumes of water from the Hrazdan River are flowing into the Araks River, which is being used by the Turkish side.
On his Facebook page, L. Galstyan shared a video taken from the territory of the Hovtashen village. "The Hrazdan River passes through here, and after covering a distance of four kilometers, the river's waters merge with the Araks. I cannot say for what purpose this water is being used. However, a large quantity of water is currently flowing to Turkey. It is often said that there is no irrigation water in the Ararat plain, that there is no water here, yet a significant amount of water is flowing right from here," he presented.
