Infectious Disease Unit to be Built Adjacent to Vanadzor Medical Center
On July 2, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan paid a working visit to the Lori Province. Accompanied by Governor Andrey Ghukasyan, he visited the Spitak Medical Center, which had joined the fight against the pandemic the same day with its oxygen-saturated 120-bed facility, including 15 beds allocated for the intensive care unit. At the time of the visit, the medical center had already admitted 6 patients, with several dozen more expected by the end of the day. The Minister and the Governor toured the area, noted their satisfaction with the conditions created.
Subsequently, they arrived in Vanadzor and visited the area adjacent to the Vanadzor Medical Center, where, as mentioned by the Minister during today's government meeting, a 30+15 bed infectious disease unit is planned to be constructed. The construction will be funded by the Eurasian Foundation for Stabilization and Development, with whom negotiations are currently ongoing.
