Today, the Food Safety Inspection Body Suspended the Operations of 30 Companies in the Food Chain for 24 Hours
Based on violations of sanitary and hygienic norms recorded by inspectors of the Republic of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body, the operation of the "Zovagyugh" public catering organization, located on the Sevan-Dilijan highway, has been suspended for 24 hours. It was noted that staff and customers were improperly wearing masks, there were human crowds near the cash registers, and appropriate social distance was not maintained between individuals seated around adjacent tables. This was reported by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
Today, the Food Safety Inspection Body has suspended the activities of another three dozen companies in the food chain across the republic for 24 hours. The Food Safety Inspection Body continues to monitor the implementation of the decisions of the state commission in public catering organizations, sales networks, and food production facilities.
Intensified inspection visits and follow-ups have been conducted in the Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan. Violations mainly recur due to issues with the completion of registration logs, which are filled out poorly due to negligence or oversight. Among the frequently repeated breaches is also the improper wearing of masks, which is either lowered under the nose or, in some cases, entirely below the chin.
Records of violations discovered during ongoing monitoring will be presented to the state commission. The Food Safety Inspection Body urges all organizations operating in the food chain to adhere to sanitary and hygienic norms imposed due to the coronavirus (Covid-19), and encourages citizens to report any violations of these norms to the Food Safety Inspection Body's hotline.
