Shooting on Iran-Azerbaijan Border Results in Casualty
On June 29, Azerbaijani border guards intercepted a large shipment of narcotics at the Azerbaijan-Iranian border. According to reports from turan.az, the Azerbaijani side stated that border guards fired warning shots into the air and called for the violators to stop. However, the intruders opened fire in response. Following the return fire, one of the violators was killed, while another fled the scene.
During the search of the area, a firearm and approximately 33 kg of drugs were discovered hidden in a sack.
