Lydian Armenia Issues Statement
Lydian Armenia has announced a change in the security service for the Amulsar project area. The company released a statement regarding this matter.
The statement also noted: "Lydian Armenia has been unlawfully deprived of access to its legitimate area for the past two years. However, there are millions of dollars' worth of property and equipment in the Amulsar area, and the Company expresses its concern over suspicions of theft in the area. Therefore, to address the security issue of its property and area, Lydian Armenia has found it appropriate to change the security service company. The new company is authorized to carry out the protection of the Amulsar area according to the procedures established by Armenian legislation and within the framework of the law."
Earlier today, employees of the new security company entered the Amulsar area armed, prompting activists and residents of Jermuk to gather in protest. They demanded that the new security service operate under the same rules and conditions as its predecessor, the "Pantera" company. After lengthy negotiations, the demands of the residents of Jermuk were met.
