Our Approach is Quarantine Without Quarantine: Prime Minister
Our approach is quarantine without quarantine, because we have also seen in many European countries that an official lockdown has been declared, but that does not mean that those rules are being fully adhered to. This was stated today, June 29, by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a briefing after a meeting of the emergency committee, responding to a question about whether it is necessary to tighten controls instead of calls for compliance.
“Before taking such action, we must be convinced that at least with 100% effectiveness those rules are being observed. If we declare a lockdown and it is observed in central streets, but not maintained in yards and buildings, that lockdown will be ineffective. Ultimately, we cannot station police on every floor of a building. We call for each of us to implement that lockdown within ourselves so that we do not have to enforce it as a measure of force,” said the Prime Minister.
