BHK Will Not Participate in Extraordinary National Assembly Meeting as It Aims to Overthrow Constitutional Order: Abovyan
“BHK will not participate in the extraordinary National Assembly meeting as it is convened to overthrow the constitutional order,” wrote Arman Abovyan, secretary of the BHK faction, on his Facebook page. He specifically stated:
“Dear compatriots, considering that the extraordinary meeting convened in the National Assembly tomorrow has one purpose—to legally attempt to cement the overthrow of the constitutional order in the Republic of Armenia, the ‘Prosperous Armenia’ faction, just like it did not participate in the first act of this process by boycotting it, will also not participate in tomorrow’s extraordinary meeting.
Unlike some of our colleagues, who, according to press reports, participated in the National Assembly meeting on June 22 even after being infected with Covid-19 to ensure necessary votes, many Deputies of the ‘Prosperous Armenia’ faction, having been in contact, demonstrate high social responsibility towards every citizen, every employee of the National Assembly, and our compatriots. Therefore, we refrain not only from participating in the extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly being called tomorrow but also from entering the administrative territory of the National Assembly.
At the same time, we continue to follow all developments and, of course, continue to fulfill the duties of the deputy entrusted to us by you, always listening to the issues raised by our citizens.”
