Which Ethnic and Religious Community Representatives Can Armenian Women Marry? Survey Results
The Caucasian Research Resource Center - Armenia has published the results of the Caucasus Barometer survey, revealing the attitudes of Armenian citizens on various issues. The research was conducted from February to March 2019.
One of the survey questions pertains to the marriage of Armenian women to representatives of other ethnic and religious communities.
According to the survey results, 98% of Armenians support marriage between Armenians, while 2% are opposed.
Regarding marriage with an American, 39% are in favor, 59% are against, and the remaining participants indicated they do not know.
With an Azerbaijani, 4% are supportive while 96% are opposed. For a Georgian, 33% are in favor, 65% against. For an Iranian, 13% support it, while 85% oppose.
In terms of marriage with a Russian, 45% are in favor and 54% are against. Only 5% would marry a Turk, while 94% are opposed.
34% support marriage with a Ukrainian, 65% oppose. With an Indian, 18% are in favor and 81% are against, while 19% support marriage with a Molokan, and 79% oppose.
For Jehovah's Witnesses, 9% are in favor, whereas 87% would not.
