Criminal Case Against Facebook User for Extreme Cynicism and Hooliganism Sent to Court

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Investigation Administration of the RA Investigative Committee has completed the preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated due to hooliganism committed by a Facebook user, characterized by extreme cynicism and threats of violence.

As a result of investigative and other procedural actions conducted during the pre-trial proceedings, it was established that the user 'Narek Sargsyan' on Facebook made sexual insults and rude, derogatory statements accompanied by threats of violence, while discussing several events that occurred in the Republic of Armenia, both during a live broadcast and on an open social platform without a specific address.

Based on a sufficient combination of evidence obtained, the user has been charged under Article 258, Part 3, Clause 5 of the RA Criminal Code (hooliganism), and a preventive measure of detention has been chosen against him.

The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an indictment.
