The Effect of Constitutional Amendments Will Come into Force Tomorrow: Rustam Badasyan

The Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, stated on his Facebook page: “In reference to the statement made by four judges of the RA Constitutional Court regarding the provisions of the ‘Constitutional Court Law’ just a few hours before the entry into force of the constitutional amendments, I find it necessary to note that according to the first part of Article 5 of the Constitution, it has supreme legal power.

The transitional provisions established by the constitutional amendments have immediate effect and their operation is not contingent upon the adoption of other acts. Adjustments of laws to the Constitution will be carried out within a short timeframe; however, this does not suspend the operation of the constitutional amendments, which will come into force tomorrow.”
