50094 of 71471 Jobs Closed Due to Coronavirus in April Have Been Restored, Prime Minister
In April, 71,471 jobs were closed in Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a Facebook live session, stating that Armenia must adopt a strategy for living alongside the coronavirus; otherwise, the country will face not just an economic downturn, but an economic collapse.
The Prime Minister also noted that when the decision was made in May not to continue the lockdown policy, 50,094 jobs were restored. “The process of job restoration is ongoing. This is perhaps the most important news we have had in recent times,” the Prime Minister said, adding that this does not mean that the difficult economic situation has been overcome.
