16th COVID-19 Death Recorded in Shirak Province

A new case of death from COVID-19 has been reported in Shirak Province. Thus, the total number of deaths due to coronavirus in the region has reached 16.

According to data released by the Shirak Provincial Administration, as of June 23, there are 75 patients being treated for COVID-19 at the infectious diseases hospital in Gyumri, of which 68 are residents of Shirak Province. A total of 238 residents of Shirak Province have recovered from the coronavirus and have been discharged from the hospital. Furthermore, 33 patients have been transferred and are receiving treatment in the capital.

Currently, 940 citizens in Shirak Province are under home isolation, and 205 of them have tested positive for the virus, exhibiting asymptomatic courses of the disease. Their health is being monitored by primary health care services.

Since March 1, a total of 3,666 tests have been conducted in Shirak Province's medical facilities and at the regional center of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention. From May 12 to June 22, 2,312 tests were conducted in Gyumri.
