South Korean Inmate Commits Suicide in Armavir Penitentiary
The police department in Vagharsapat received a report from the penitentiary service of the Armavir Correctional Institution regarding a hanging body found in one of the prison cells. According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on May 30, at approximately 08:30, police and investigators determined that at around 07:40 that same day, a 50-year-old citizen of the Republic of South Korea, Kong Jang Hon, had committed suicide by hanging in quarantine cell number 15 of the aforementioned penal facility.
The forensic specialist stated that no signs of violence were found on the body upon external examination. By the order of the investigator, a forensic medical examination has been commissioned.
According to photojournalist reports, Kong Jang Hon was charged under Article 347 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of South Korea. Investigative materials are being prepared by investigator D. Ghahramanyan at the Vagharsapat investigative department regarding this incident.
